This hospitality concept redefines the lobby as a sanctuary of tectonic weight and artisanal soul, grounded by honed dark limestone and the soft-sculpture of raw linen sectionals.
The centerpiece is a monumental Panchaloha vessel—a sacred Indian "five-metal" alloy of gold, silver, copper, zinc, and iron—traditionally revered for its energetic balance. Its hand-hammered, iridescent patina provides a primal counterpoint to the clean architectural lines and aged bronze fixtures.
By integrating this ancient metallurgical craft into a contemporary frame, the design offers a sophisticated narrative of permanence and global heritage. The resulting space is a masterclass in quiet luxury, where ancestral craftsmanship meets modern residential comfort.
THE SILK WOVEN LATTICE
This double-height residential lobby balances the architectural weight of travertine and dark bronze with a radical synthesis of clay and textile. The centerpiece is a pale terracotta wall panel featuring a geometric grid of hand-carved oval perforations, each intricately laced with Kanchipuram silk. This legendary Indian textile, rendered in temple red and zari gold, is hand-woven directly through the clay substrate to create a living, tactile surface suspended from a minimal iron rod. The interplay of natural light across the silk-through-clay boundary highlights a masterclass in material tension—where the primal earthiness of terracotta meets the refined, metallic luster of traditional silk-weaving. This upscale hotel restaurant interior, grounded by dark walnut tables and aged leather banquettes, finds its artisanal centerpiece in a low, wide shallow bowl.
